Menu Button Popup?!?

My friends iPhone is doing this weird thing, where when she presses a navigational button, a pop up window comes up on the middle of the screen with the name and icon of the button. It pops up for a second and disappears.

I’ve tried hard reset with the vol up down off restart and that didn’t work.

it seems like something in accessibility but I can’t figure out which.

Can anyone tell me how to turn off this feature?

thank you

Greetings sscsmy,

Begin by checking to se if Assistive Touch is enable don the device.

Use AssistiveTouch on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

"There are a few ways to turn on AssistiveTouch. You can:

  • Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch, then turn on AssistiveTouch
  • Use "Hey Siri" to say, “Turn on AssistiveTouch”
  • Go to Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut, then turn on AssistiveTouch"

Take care.

sscsmy,

It looks like you may want to try resetting all of your iPhone settings, which will return everything to its default state. We do want to note that this does not include any of your apps or data on the device but rather only refers to the settings that have been enabled or customized on this device.

You can learn more about this here: Return iPhone settings to their defaults - Apple Support

Cheers!
