Recuperation iTunes Library à partir d'un fichier csv

Bonjour,

Merci

Fred

Hi,

I've sent you an email with an import file derived from your CSV and the latest version of ExportImportAltKey.vbs. You should be able to place both files on the desktop, then drag and drop the text file onto the script and follow the prompts.

First there should be prompt confirming that you want to import metadata for 22,339 items. Assuming you click OK the script will next prompt that is going to scan your tracks looking for alternate keys and that this will take some time. Click OK and wait. It has been taking about a minute to scan 10,000 tracks which feels like forever! There is the option to have a progress bar here but it requires tweaking Windows security settings to get it to show, and ultimately slows down the process. Details on my scripts page if you are interested.

Next you should get a prompt indicating the first change that the script proposes to make. For you that should be that it will change the rating of O:\Music\Music\30 Seconds To Mars\This Is War\01 Escape.mp3 from 0 to 40 (0 stars to 2 stars). Click Yes to accept the change and preview the next change, click No to stop getting prompts and let the changes take place automatically, or click Cancel to quit the script.

I'd recommend you make a backup copy of your iTunes Library.itl (while iTunes is closed) before you try to use the script.

Assuming the import is successful it should replace the plays, played date, skips, skipped date, and ratings where those details were recorded in the CSV.

Let me know if you have any problems using the script, or you don't get the email. (Check your spam.)

Album Artist should be preserved in tags except for tracks in .wav format. The only other cases where this might be missing would be .mp3 files with multiple tags as discussed in Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows - Apple Community.

Please send the full .csv file to my email address. You'll find it in my profile. I'm thinking I will probably want to take the existing data and manually manipulate it to construct a file that my ExportImport script will import. Let me know once you've found my address so I can remove it again.

Recover iTunes Library from csv file

Hello,
The technician of a reputable store (in 4 letters which begins with L...) "forgot" to save my iTunes Library file as I had asked him. I have 22,000 titles tagged for 15 years...La cata.
My only hope lies in the csv file that I made regularly and which embedded all the meta data not contained in the files.
Do you know where? who? How? 'Or' What? I can restore an xml file from this.
Thanks
Fred

Hi,

I don't have anything (yet) that can import details from a CSV file but I do have a project called ExportImport that is designed to export data in an XML like format can then be reimported as a method of copying data from one library file to another. It somewhat depends what data has been captured in the CSV file and whether anything there can be used to uniquely identify the track it came from.

Perhaps you could share the first couple of lines of the CSV file to see if it is a realistic proposition. Was anything else saved, e.g. the old Previous iTunes Libraries folder?

Salut,

The good news is that the last column of the CSV file appears to hold the location of each track, which forms a unique key that can be used to identify the corresponding track in your current library.

What fields are you hoping to recover from the CSV file? I can see Rating=Classement and Plays=Lectures.

Are the files still stored in O:\Music\Music\<Album Artist>\<Album> folders, or would any script need to take account of a systematic change to the path?
