Can’t (re)verify my USAA card in wallet

Got a new iPhone and transferred everything from the old one. Went into wallet and it said my USAA debit card needed to be verified. Problem is, USAA is already showing the card as verified since I went through that process with my previous iPhone. I’ve gone through all of USAA’s instructions on how to add the card through their app, but since the card has already been added and verified it won’t work. Tried deleting the card and that didn’t change anything on the USAA side and adding it back to wallet still left me with the conundrum of how to verify. Called USAA and they see it as verified so they can’t do anything. What can I do to get the card verified in wallet?

okay, there are a few things I want you to do but it should work. Lets just start with a blank slate.

  1. go to iCloud.com>sign in>go to account settings>click on new device>select to remove Apple Pay. (this is not as drastic as you think)
  2. Delete the USAA app.
  3. Sign out of your Apple ID on the new device and then force reboot the device.
  4. Once your device restarts sign back into your Apple ID
  5. Download the USAA app and sign in (and since multi tasking has been removed from the app it should be okay.
  6. Call USAA and have them reset the certificates/tokens/permissions on the card.
  7. Try to add the card again through the Wallet app not the USAA app.
