the toggle for ‘show my caller iD’ is just a constant loading symbol, I have tried turning my phone on/off and installed the latest update but it’s still not working. I need to make private calls to clients so this is an essential feature I need to use!

Note that Show Caller ID option/feature is provided and managed by your carrier.
(1) Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

Go to Settings > Mobile > and turn Mobile data off and back on. It may be necessary to turn off wifi as well. This usually stops the strolling.
