Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Family sharing error

Family sharing app requested. Notification is received, but upon trying to open to accept, app info does not load. Press cancel - quick “error unknown” message that disappears. Upon restarting phone, one request will go through - (so I know that everything is toggled correctly), then error persists. All devices working with latest iOS. This is happening with different family members. Fix?

Sometimes it helps to have the devices involved take a fresh look at settings:

- Try signing out of accounts and back in again.

- Restarting is a simple step that can resolve many unexpected behaviors.


If a problem persists, particularly over several days, try contacting Apple for assistance:


Click here --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Family sharing problem. When an app is requested by family member, notification works. Upon tapping on notification to approve requested app, new window opens and will not connect to approve request. Empty box with only spinning gear and cancel. Will not open over wifi or cell data. Press cancel and very quickly “error unknown” message appears.
