Canon dropped macOS driver support for this device at macOS High Sierra in 2017. The following is right off their website. Notice how they continue to support it on Windows 11 though. It is MacOS 12.4, not iOS 12.4.
It is not supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint either. So unless you can connect to another older Mac running High Sierra or older, or a WIndows box, you won't be using it in macOS Monterey.

Hi,
It does not look too promising.
As VikingOSX mentioned, the latest supported printer drivers from Canon appear to be for macOS 10.13 High Sierra.

This does not necessarily mean that they cannot be used with a somewhat newer operating system, but that would be entirely experimental.
Also, a Canon Pro9000II series printer driver 16.10.0.0 is listed in Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support. Experiments could perhaps be carried out with the Canon Printer Drivers v3.4 for macOS, but the system requirements say OS X Lion or later and Not compatible with macOS v12 and newer, so it may not open/work at all.
Finally, there are experimental Gutenprint drivers for the Canon Pro9000. It is not clear whether they would work with the latest macOS versions. The normal recommendation is to download from a printer manufacturer, or from another trustworthy source such as Apple. Anything else would be at your own risk.
Thanks for the feedback. I still have lots of ink and paper. I’ll have to fire up one of my old MacBook Pros or old Windows laptop. What a shame and a pain. Yes MacOS 12.4. Don’t know what I was thinking.
You were thinking about your printer predicament… 👀
