I just got an M2 Air and realized there is no button for adjusting the keyboard backlight brightness like on my old MacBook. I know that I can do it from the control center on the menu bar, but I'd prefer to have a keyboard button for it if possible. I tried looking at keyboard shortcuts in system preferences but I couldn't figure it out. Is it possible to set the F1 and F2 keys to raise and lower keyboard brightness?

Do one of the following, depending on your Mac model:
- On the keyboard, press the increase brightness keyor the decrease brightness key
. To turn backlighting off, keep pressing
- In Control Center, click Keyboard Brightness, then drag the slider.
- In the Touch Bar, expand the Control Strip, then tap the increase brightness button
