2019 iMac 27" power consumption

Reading through the responses it looks like the only way for me to really cut my iMac 27" power consumption is to switch off when not in use and turn off at the wall socket. I already have sleep mode set up but in the UK, sure other countries are the same, electricity costs are about to rocket with power prices due to the war etc.

Can anyone give me a steer on this?

The only way to do as you wish is to limit usage. You do that by removing it from the power supply, using the included power saving settings or both.

But asleep or awake, your Mac is a rather efficient power user. What makes you think it's using excessive power? There are other appliances in the home that use far more electricity than a modern computer.
