I have a brand new ipad 9.7with 32 gig. Somehow in the set up process, we gave two appleIDs for the same person , and at issue is that apprently over 50 of the 118 apps loaded on the new ipad are loaded with one appleid and the remainder with new appleID. Short of deleting half of the apps and reloading on the correct appleID, is there any others way to combine the apps under a common I’d??

No, all you can do is delete the apps and use the App Store to download/purchase them again under the AppleID you want to use. Purchases from one AppleID cannot be combined with another AppleID.

You can try setting up Family Sharing between the IDs if you want to be able to share purchases made with the IDs.
