Airplay won't fast forward only goes to beginning of video

I am also having this issue with iOS15.6.1 in iphone 12 pro. Started a few weeks ago, reset didn't fix it. Airplay works with other devices, but with iPhone it starts at beginning and cant fast forward.

Same here, running iPad and iPhone IOS 16, and fast forward and rewind not working with Airplay. Come on Apple address this issue, off at least acknowledge it!! I am running the latest software version so please don’t reply with the normal “update your software” answer!

While I appreciate AzizAlmarji's work-around, it's frustrating that this issue is now marked "Solved"!! It is definitely NOT solved. I have a variety of Apple devices... AppleTV's (4K, 4K Gen2, HD), TV's w/Airplay 2 support (Samsung Frame, Sony Bravia), iPhone XS, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro (2020), this Airplay problem appears to happen between ALL devices! (ALL devices are on the latest firmware/software.)

Frustrating that this has gone on for 2 months now, and NOTHING from Apple, not even recognition that the problem exists.

Interesting that you found something that DOES work. When I discovered the issue one day, I went to a variety of sites/providers (including… APPLE) and experienced the same issue across all. So unless the variety of providers are all sharing underlying software/infrastructure that ALL changed at the same time, I still expect it’s an Apple issue to acknowledge and resolve.

Still… silence. Nothing.

I can no longer sing praises of the Apple ecosystem or purchase Apple products (e.g. AppleTV’s) for myself or holiday gifts. Such a shame when a strong company starts losing it.

I purchased an IPad for the casting feature. It worked great until a recent update. I am disappointed that Apple isn’t even acknowledging the issue nor try to fix it. I wonder if they will take my IPad back?

STR are very simple :

1. Open Safari on an iOS device
2. Go to a webpage where there is an embedded video
3. Stream that video to a smart TV such as LG TV using AirPlay
4. Try to fast forward/rewind the video when playing

It doesn’t work.

Please submit this issue ASAP as it’s becoming REALLY annoying.

Warning this does NOT fox the issue - this should NOT be marked at SOLVED (probably why only 1 person out of the 400+ other users thought it useful) I’m sorry but it is so frustrating that yawning problems / bugs like this just get ignored by Apple - sorry but it’s true

All apps have the same problem with streaming over airplay, no fast forward or rewind

I have had this issue for a month as well. Makes airplay useless. Update and restarting both devices has not fixed the issue.
