Ipad screen issue!

The black lines are the areas on screen that do not work. I used a coloring app to show said areas. I’ve already tried the hard reset. What is this issue called? Any chance I can repair this at home?

You might try a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue - but as described your iPad is more likely to have a screen hardware issue that will require service/repair.

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If the problem is not cleared with the forced restart, your best option is to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad. If repair is required, you’ll be in the best possible place to explore your options:
