No “sent as text” or “delivered” message.

I’ve been trying to text my friend for his birthday but my messages turn green instead or blue but usually I’ll either see a message under my text that either says “delivered” or “sent as text message” I am not getting neither of those two, it just has a blank space under the text. I read online that it means I’ve been blocked. Is this true?
