Apple TV remote vs Panasonic TV i have the newest Apple TV 4K. I have a Panasonic TV. When I put the Apple TV to sleep, it will turn off the TV. However when I press the power button on the remote to watch TV, it will NOT turn on the tv. i did the Down volume/ menu procedure. Seems to select the tv ok. But it still will not turn on the TV

apple tv does not respond to remote power button when I’m done using it, I put my Apple TV to sleep by holding down the power button on the remote. But today it doesn’t respond to it. All the other buttons work properly. If the Apple TV is asleep, the power button also doesn’t wake it up. Any of the other buttons do. is this a physical problem with my remote? Should I feel the button depress physically or is just a touch sensor type button. Guess I never noticed before. I do not use the power button to control my tv.

Do one of the following:

Siri Remote (2nd generation): Press and hold the Power button. .
Press and hold the TV button. to open Control Centre, then select Sleep.
Open Settings. on Apple TV, then select Sleep Now.
