Apple TV remote won’t put LG pled tv to sleep

Does anyone now how to solve this issue

Technically, it is not the remote that puts the TV to sleep, but the remote puts the Apple TV box to sleep, and that in turn sends a HDMI-CEC signal to other devices about going to standby mode.

Verify if HDMI-CEC (SimpLink) is activated on your TV.
Verify if HDMI-CEC is activated on your Apple TV. Control your TV or receiver with your Siri Remote - Apple Support

Thank you. Both are active. Does it matter which hdmi on the tv the Apple TV unit utilizes? I have it in number two which also say hdmi/Arc.
