How can I stop the HomeKit Setup alert?

Almost everytime I open my phone or my iPad, a notification appears that “iCloud for HomeKit must be enabled when signed into an iCloud account” under the title “HomeKit Setup” and I’ve tried to make it stop by deleting and disabling anything I can find to do with Home and Homekit. I want to stop the reminders. I have friends who need a solution to this, also. Many people don’t use Home or HomeKit and the notification must be cancelled each time before proceeding with desired tasks. It could possibly interfere with an emergency situation.

iPhone XR, iOS 15

Thank you for your quick response.

I am hoping for an answer on how to remove the HomeKit alert pop-up concerning iCloud.

Just to clarify, I have already shut it off in iCloud and I have also deleted the Home app from my phone and my iPad. This what is confusing. I have all current updates and

I have also powered down and restarted the devices.

🙏thank you.

Well, actually, no. It does not suit my needs, or perhaps better to say, my wants. It is merely a workaround, which is something we do when things don’t work properly. It’s annoying and rather shabby.

I am very much hoping that an Apple tech will see my complaint and request for help, and that of others, and perhaps convey it to the right person in charge of getting things corrected.🙏🏼

I appreciate your response and attempt to help. There are others with this problem who I am sure thank you, as well.

I do not want to turn off all notifications because I need some of them. I know you weren’t really suggesting that.🤣

Also, I turned off the notifications for HomeKit and deleted the Home app.

I have two iPhones, an iPad, and 3 Apple TV devices. Needless to say I’ve become very familiar with settings. I got my first iPhone in 2008 and iPad as soon as I could get my hands on one. I’ve never had a problem such as this.

I suppose I could reinstall the Home app and turn on notifications. This would mean I have an app on my phone I don’t use and I am allowing it notification ability when there is nothing for it to notify. Just to make the phone and the iOS and Apple “happy.” That is not the quality and usability I’ve come to depend on.

I’ve developed muscle memory that I have to swat away the annoying fly every time I use my phone. Another fly is a WiFi calling app on my iPad. We should be able to set and use our phones the way we want.

I will hope with every update that this will stop.

Peace.

Ridding of HomeKit Notification:

Disabling all notifications rids of it. So, if you have no need for notifications, then do it that way.

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Notifications
  3. Tap: Home (not “HomeKit”)
  4. Tap: Allow Notifications (so that it becomes greyed-out)***
