Apple Watch display is stuck on the grid configuration screen

My watch display is stuck on the grid configuration screen. It simply suggests Grid or List configuration for the apps. I have checked grid but I can not get rid of this screen. There is a Cancel designation at the top of the screen, but when pressed it does nothing. Any suggestions as to how I get back to regular watch mode?
