Has my Apple Watch been bricked?

I updated my Apple Watch and when I went to put it back on it was just showing the apple logo. I searched what it was and it said to press and hold the crown and side button. Nothing!

unpaired my watch from my phone and tried to pair it again. Nothing. Can’t even pair it now!!!!

Put the watch on charge and the apple logo appeared again. Pressed the side and crown again and up came a red exclamation mark ❗️ and saying to contact apple to restore it. As I’m not apple+ care they want at least £124 to send it off to them. It’s not even my fault. Only doing an update!
