Switching from phone keypad to screen that allows speakerphone

I have an iPhone 8. When I am on a call, the keypad is open. If I want to switch to the screen that allows speakerphone and other options. I have read solutions that have been given to others, but there is no "hide" button at the bottom of the screen and no green bar at the top. How can I do this?

Hey davidfromocean shores,

We'd be happy to help out. Sounds like you're having an issue with the options while on a call on your iPhone.

While it's unclear why you're not seeing the options that are expected, perhaps try restarting your iPhone and ensuring it's running the latest software.

You could also try leaving the Phone app and seeing if you can go back to it and see the options you'd expect.

We hope this helps.

Take care!

Thanks, but my problem is that when I dial a number with the keypad, I have a white screen with black numerals inside gray circles, with a telephone icon inside a green circle at the bottom. There is nothing that allows me to get off this screen and onto the other one that has various options like speaker, mute, etc.

At the bottom of the screen there are links for Favorites, Recents, Contacts, Keypad and Voicemail. But that is the extent of what I can do.
