Ipad 5th Generation Adaptor

I have an old Ipad 5th Generation and am looking for an adaptor to use a USB. I am getting confused with what I need. Can anyone help.

What charging cable did you get with the iPad? I thought the 5th generation came with a lightning to USB cable, which would connect to most powerbanks.

What type of USB device are you trying to use? An external hard drive? A keyboard? Something else?

It was more so that I can use a powerbank to charge my ipad rather than the mains electric
