iMovie

I can no longer download IMovie as it requires os 11.5.2 or higher. How do I retrieve my data that was on the app?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Try signing into the app store and opening your account purchases list. iMovie should be displayed. You can download from there the highest version of iMovie that your operating system can run. This works if you have, or ever had, iMovie 10 on your Mac, even if you deleted or otherwise lost it.

The iMovie app itself does not contain much data. All of the media is contained in the iMovie library that is separate from the iMovie app. The media clips that you see in an iMovie app timeline are just small sized editing thumbnails that refer to the original full sized media in the iMovie Library.
