Falling in the shower

I’d like to put my Apple Watch 7 in a waterproof pouch that hangs from my neck when I take a shower so that it would detect a fall if I were to slip. Would the watch detect a fall in this circumstance?

I f I can’t wear my watch in the shower how can I be safe from falling? I have fallen several times. My main reason for buying a watch is to get help if I fall. The shower seems like a place that I would be in danger of falling. Now I have just read that I shouldn’t wear my watch in the shower because of the possibility of getting soap or shampoo on it. If the watch is placed on a shelf and I can’t reach it how would that help me?

Probably not because it uses wrist detection. It’s supposed to be on your wrist.
