How to turn off the plug setting when charging?

When my mac is plugged in, there are the two different settings, there is the little lightning bolt that comes up that means that it is actually charging, and then there is just the little plug symbol which means it is plugged in but not really charging. How do I turn that off, I want it to just be continuously charging.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.5

That generally points either to a lack of power for charging, since it died, or an issue with the battery now, that may require it be replaced.

The optimization option, if it's turned off, should no longer show the plug, and instead will continuously charge the battery.

If you regularly charge it overnight it should be ready and charged in the morning unless there is some other issue preventing it form charging. The setting is unlikely to be the cause.

You should not mess around with the Mac's charging settings. It is set to optimize charging for best battery life. Having the battery continuously be charged will only result in more charge cycles and by extension a reduced battery life in a shorter amount of time.

Let it learn your habits and it will be charged when you need to take it off the charger.

If you really want to force it to charge, go to System Preferences->Battery->Battery->Optimize battery charging and uncheck it.

This will force it to always charge to 100% no matter what.
