Can Final Cut Pro support split-screens (ala Brady Bunch)?

Aloha

I am looking to a multiple split screen like you would see in The Brady Bunch. Will FCP 10.6.4 support this and if so how? I have seen how it will do a single split screen but this project would possibly involve considerably more than that.

Howzit Phil. Yes, FCP can support Brady Bunch style split screens. In addition to Tom's excellent book, one of our resident Motion template experts here, Fox_M, has a free sc-multiscreen plugin that should save you a lot of time. https://fcpxtemplates.com/sc-multiscreen/

Hey all!

I built a Picture in Picture effect because of the "zooming in a picture (in picture) without changing the image frame size" thread and it's still free today (Sept 7) here:

https://fcpxtemplates.com/picture-in-picture-22/

and with it I was able to create a Brady Bunch-style opener (and I shouldn't need to say it: ENTIRELY IN FINAL CUT PRO):

using 3 "adjustment layers" and a Picture in Picture 22 effect for each clip applied. (You can tell where the breaks are). The Art Layer "adjustment layer" is included free with Picture in Picture 22.

If anyone would like the "Brady Bunch Opener" (it's 3 Effects Presets - one for each "segment"), I will make it available.

Not bad for a "simple" Picture in Picture effect, if I do say so myself. The storyline still looks like a storyline and not a "pile of bricks".
