MSNBC App Does Not Stream Live when Authenticated with YouTube TV

The MSNBC app and the NBC News app on my Apple TV 4K will not stream MSNBC live even though both apps have authenticated my YouTube TV subscription. When I tap the red icon on either app to stream MSNBC (center frame of the image below), I get the “Oops! You are not authorized to view the content” error in the bottom frame.

The NBC app streams MSNBC fine. All three apps stream NBC News Now on the ATV4K with no problem.

On my iPhone MSNBC streams fine on the MSNBC app and the NBC app, once authenticated by YouTube TV.

1. Have any other YouTube TV subscribers had problems streaming MSNBC live with the MSNBC and NBC News apps on Apple TV?

2. Can any YouTube TV subscribers stream MSNBC live with either app on Apple TV?

Hi cyberbiker,

Running the latest software can help with overall performance, so if you haven't done so yet, make sure your Apple TV is up to date: Update your Apple TV - Apple Support

1. Go to Settings > System > Software Updates and select Update Software.

2. If there's an update, select Download and Install.

3. Wait for your Apple TV to download the update. Don't disconnect or unplug your Apple TV until the update completes.

1. Open the App Store on your Apple TV.

2. Search for the app, then choose it.

3. The app's product page appears. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Find the developer's website in the Information section.
