Help ipod somehow resetting to factory, losing all music and wants to start all over.

Good Morning, I have an older ipod that has several thousand songe on the device. I went to merge that directory of songs and put them into MediaMonkey software. Now everything is gone and the Ipod is wiped and looks like it is starting completely over. How can I recover the library of songs and copy to musicmatch

iPod, iOS 9

Hi scot247,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you'd like to import your music that used to be on your iPod to MediaMonkey.

Since the music isn't available on your iPod any longer, you can go back to the original source of music and export your music via iTunes on a PC or via the Music app on a Mac so that you can still access your music. We've included resources below with instructions for you:

Save a copy of a playlist in Music on Mac - Apple Support

Transfer song information to other applications
In the Music app  on your Mac, do one of the following:
• Export all the song information to a text file: Select a playlist in the sidebar on the left, then choose File > Library > Export Playlist. Make sure “Text files” is selected in the “Save as type” pop-up menu.
All information from the Info window for each song is exported, not just the fields currently displayed in the library or playlist.
Copy the information (in the columns that are visible) for one or more songs: Click Songs in the sidebar on the left, select the songs, then choose Edit > Copy. In another app (for example, an email or text document), choose Edit > Paste.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
