Macbook air m1 keyboard keys are shorted out without any spill.

My macbook air m1 number keys ( 2,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,) are shorted with (s,f,g,h,j,k,l,'). Rest of the keys are working fine. The issue is if i type "L" or "9" both letters are typed at the same time on pressing any of them. Similarly other pairs are (S,2),,(F,4),,(G,5),,(H,6),,(J,6),,(J,7),,(K,8),,(L,9),(;,0). There was no spill of any kind on the keyboard. The Very next day, the keys started working right one by one, but they stopped working again next day. Now the keys are shorted in same manner as above. What should i do?l9(l9

Hi abudaud1007,

We're happy to provide some assistance.

Based on your original post, we recommend the troubleshooting steps via the link below since you're receiving an unexpected result when pressing keys on your MacBook Air.

If your Mac doesn’t respond to key presses - Apple Support

To perform the troubleshooting actions recommended by the article above, please read through and complete the steps in the section titled "If other keys don't work."

"You may have accidentally set an option that changes how your keyboard operates.

  • Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Accessibility , click Keyboard, then click Hardware. Make sure Slow Keys is turned off. If Slow Keys is on, you must press and hold a key longer than usual before it’s recognized.
  • Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, click Pointer Control, then click Alternate Control Methods. Make sure Mouse Keys is off.
  • Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Keyboard , then click Input Sources. Select “Show Input menu in menu bar.” Open the Input menu, then make sure the correct keyboard layout is selected."

We're recommending the steps above because they directly address the issue you initially reached out to the community about, which is that some of the keys on your MacBook Air keyboard are not working as expected.

If the original problem persists after trying our suggested troubleshooting steps, provide us with specifics on what you see for more help, and we will continue from there.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

Cheers!
