the password keeps directing me to ios. If I put the password in there, then it warns me that ios has access to my information. Should I do this or not?

Trying to enter a password to set up my gmail account. When I click password, it takes me to another site and wants me to enter it there. I think it is IOS. If I do, then it warns me that IOS now has access to my information. What is this, and is it right?

Probably you have a 2-step verification Gmail account.

When to use App Passwords

Tip: iPhones and iPads with iOS 11 or up don’t require App Passwords. Instead use “Sign in with Google.”

If the app doesn’t offer “Sign in with Google,” you can either:

  • Use App Passwords
  • Switch to a more secure app or device

So it is not clear where are you trying to log in for Gmail?

You have not specified where are you trying to set up your Gmail account.

With the limited information that you have provided, It is hard to even guess the problems faced by you.
