Iphone keeps asking for password you must enter both your apple account and password

Go to Settings/[your name] and sign out, then sign in again.

I had the same problem. I realised I changed my work app(outlook) password a week before but didn’t update it on my iPhone work profile. I just updated the password of my work profile and I don’t see the prompt anymore. So please see whether you have set up something in addition to Apple ID profile and update password for that too.

Do you have any apps that may have been purchased using a different Apple ID? Any time those apps have available updates the App Store will ask for the Apple ID used to download them.

Was the phone purchased used and if so the phone come with any apps preinstalled.

Perhaps a long shot:

Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN.

After IOS update 18.5 my phones exhibit the same problem. The iPhones keep asking for my password to my Apple account. When I put it in, the phones ask again and again! Frustrated iPhones user.
