Too frequently being asked to provide password to all my devices!

This occurs too frequently (sometimes several times a week) and I question why? I have multiple devices.....an iPhone 12, an iPad, 3 iPod touches and an old cell phone SE I use now like an iPod touch.

I have not updated/changed my email or passwords so that can't be triggering this and I'm the only user of these devices.

It seems far too frequently I am being asked first thing in the morning to provide my Apple ID password.

I tried signing out and signing back in to all of the devices....it still won't stop!

My question is what triggers this irritation? Every few sign in's it locks my account until I answer the security questions!

Is there anything I can do to stop it or at least reduce the frequency of this?

This is just overkill! Why does Apple do this? Does anybody else have this experience?

And why doesn't Apple have an "Show Password" for the sign in? This would prevent errors in typing in the password.

Nope it is not a bug in iOS 18.5. The problem you are having is due to the fact that you are not using two factor authentication. That is apparent because you say you are being asked for Security Questions which are deprecated when using two factor authentication. Anyone is then capable of attempting to sign into your account and a failed attempt to guess your Password too many times will result in your account being locked for your own protection. When using Two Factor Authentication, a verification code will be sent to your Trusted Devices if a person attempts to sign into your account from an unknown device. There are no Security Questions to answer.

If you are being continually targeted by a person trying to log into your account, then create a new email address and change your Apple Account email to that address. No data is lost using this method and you will still own all of your previous purchases associated with the previous email used.

Yes same here, I have se 3rd generation phone and Im on ios 18.5 and Ive been getting locked out of my account the last two days. Its annoying. The last time I had this happen was years ago and when there was a new ios that came out it fixed itself I guess after the update. But its very annoying and it makes u verify my payment when u unlock the phone. Hopefully a new ios 18.6 or ios 26 update will fix it. Many others have had the same issues in ios 18.5 Ive heard.
