Final Cut Pro: Incorrect Keyboard in Command Editor

I bought a brand new MacBook Pro (2021) yesterday. Today I installed Final Cut on my MacBook, but when I went to customize my shortcuts using the Command Editor, I was surprised to find that the keyboard displayed is a QWERTZ keyboard. The keyboard on my MacBook is the Canadian French - CSA keyboard (QWERTY). I've included images below of the contradicting keyboard settings. Additionally, the QWERTZ keyboard has many additional keys (F13, F14, and onwards).

I want to change the keyboard that is visible in the Command Editor to my actual keyboard (Canadian French - CSA), that way I can set up my customized short cuts correctly. I have already tried deleting the preferences in Final Cut Pro.

If you have insight as to how to change the keyboard visible in Command Editor, please let me know! I found an old forum on this topic from 2016, but it didn't have a solution in it.

Thanks,

Mackenzie

Hi,

I just noticed the other day that my M1 MacBook Air was displaying this exact odd keyboard layout. My language, region, keyboard in settings are set to British/UK English. I checked on my older Intel iMac and the keyboard is displaying correctly (QWERTY). I guess it must be an M1/MacOS problem. Need to send a feedback report unless anyone else has any ideas?

Yeah I think I've just run into a bug. I would hope it'll be fixed in future updates, but the forum from 2016 that I was reading (which showed the same issue) makes me think otherwise; I think this bug has been around for a while (but is only a bug for keyboards that aren't the typical US/Canada English options).

I decided to work around the issue by reprogramming the QWERTZ keyboard to match my current keyboard set up (I moved the shortcuts from the number pad which over to the numbers across the top of my computer, and swapped the Z and Y commands). A little time consuming, but now that it's done I should be able to continue editing as normal.
