Automatically open iTunes upon plugging in iPhone

The version released through the Microsoft Store may be a little more sandboxed than the traditional release. Apple own download page for iTunes makes it easier to get the Microsoft Store release. This is a version independent download link for the current 64-bit standalone installer:

I do recall that option but as you say, it appears to be absent now. I suppose this may be because there is now an option to Sync via Wi-Fi, which would appear to be a better option.

Prompted by your post, I've just set my iPod to Sync via Wi-Fi; it took three restarts of iTunes for it to work, including one that failed after iTunes gave up looking for the iPod.

Of course, iTunes needs to be open on the computer for a Wi-Fi Sync to work and the iPod apparently needs to be running on external power, but I will stick with it.

If I recall correctly that behaviour relies on your computer running the iPod Service process. This might not be included in the Microsoft Store version of iTunes.
