YouTube app skipping

I've an issue with the Apple TV 4K and the YouTube app.

This only applies to the YouTube app, everything else is OK.

When viewing a video, an ad starts playing as usual.

About 1/2 second plays, the screen goes blank for a second or so, and then the ad reappears.

The ad has been playing whilst this happens, I just can't see it.

Also when the actual video starts, again, about 1/2 second plays, the screen goes blank for a second or so and then the content starts playing.

This happens again when another ad starts half way through the video.

I've tried restarting the ATV, reinstalling and reloading into the YouTube app.

Anybody else have this problem?

Thanks for that description. It sounds like you've tested other apps, including Apple apps, and determined the issue is isolated to YouTube.

Here are a couple of steps you can try:

Restart your Apple TV: Restart Apple TV - Apple Support
