iPhone video mute button grayed out

Whenever I record and try to play a video, there will always be a grayed out mute button, unallowing me to unmute the video, therefore getting no sound.

These step may be helpful:

"If the microphone doesn't work in a specific app

Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
Make sure that the app is enabled.
If the app has permission to access your microphone, or if it isn't listed, contact the app developer."

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? Does this happen on videos you didn't record? Does the microphone work well with other apps? Also, what is your exact iOS version?
