My daughter got a message about an air tag on her phone. Can’t find it or hear it. She is staying at a friends house. Any suggestions?

Check to see whether there is an AirTag present near her which is owned by a family member of the friend. If there are AirTags in that household and one of them is close to your daughter’s iPhone, then it may provide that message.
The real test will be to see whether she sees that message after she gets home.
