Should a 7 year old Macbook Air have a faulty topcase?
I can't believe that I have 15+ year old Windows laptops with no hardware problems and I've had 2 Macbook Airs with 1) a screen problem and, now, 2) an expensive-to-fix topcase problem. WT*?? Is this the norm for Apple? I get that as computers get older, memory, speed, etc are limited. But the basic hardware? For the record, it's the Apple genius bar diagnosing my non-working keys problem as needing a new topcase. This computer has been coddled - dust cover on keys, foam-padded carrier for the occasional travel, never dropped or hit or spilled on. For the cost, this should be a superior laptop, on par with the best, similarly-priced non-Apple laptops. Apparently, not. Does anyone have an answer?
