iPhone 11. Updating to iOS16 causes touch screen to fail.
Updated to iOS 15.7 first, then updated to iOS16 straight afterwards. Both updates ran with no issues.
After update to 16, touch screen is operating randomly. (Touch one icon and another is selected, cannot put correct numbers in to make a phone call etc) Everything else appears to work. No problems with touch before the update.

OK - have spent the day with Apple tech trying to diagnose the problem. No software fixes resets or restores worked. I was told the problem is caused by new display features in iOS16 which are incompatible with non-Apple replacement screens.
The phones cannot be restored back to iOS15.7 after upgrading to iOS16. The only solution offered is to replace the display with an Apple display (cost £220 ish). I wish they had warned me of this before doing the upgrade to iOS16!!
By the way, I discovered that fast double taps kind of work sometimes when selecting apps and entering data.

This is a user-to-user forum. You're not addressing Apple here.
Displays fail, regardless of how much you paid for the original phone. It doesn't happen to most people but, you are apparently one of the unlucky one. It can happen to any kind of phone, Samsungs, LG, Huawei.
But, buy whatever phone makes you happiest.
I'm in 16.6.1. Somehow this version feels worse. In 2 minute span I must sleep-wake button for 10 times to make my touch screen respond again. I usually using it for 10 minutes watching YT or 30 minutes when playing games. Sometimes 10 minutes nothing happen. But this madness 10 second then touch screen not respond also happen randomly.
iOS 17 on horizon. Hopefully it will not make any worse.
Yes. 15.7 then 16. And I am also iPhone 11.

Screen got replace about a year ago but everything was ok with 15.7. My iphone is unusable, how can i downgrade to 15.7 ?

I can confirm this Touch Accomodation tips from Ste55 in this thread is working. It still feel slow but now I can wait Apple patch this release.

Sidenote: this (unfortunately) does not fix the problems with typing.
Hopefully Apple will patch this issue soon.
