How can I get the old Modular Watch face back?

I agree. Now I have to put on my glasses to see the date. Apple think they know what is best. My watch using the original modular interface was perfect for me. Maybe apple wants people to re-purchase the 7 series since most have not been updated that are sitting in stock at stores.

I have several friends that are going to purchase an Apple watch for the first time - based on the "old" modular watch face. They are now waiting to see if this face is brought back. (and I really want the old modular face, too!)

I'm one of those 'kids with sharp vision', but I still prefer the old Modular.

It was much more simple, gorgeous, and aesthetically pleasing. The large yet informative complications gave one-of-a-kind experiences.

I am definitely unhappy with watch os9 watch faces . I want the modular version from os8 brought back. With my vision I must hold a clock face inches from my face or put my glasses on to see the time at night. Before I could make the time dim dark red. Now it is blinding white. It makes it very hard to go back to sleep after shining a bright light in my face to tell the time.

This means white my Watch8 arrives I never be wearing it at night. Also I will never update my watch6 maybe I will need to look at other brands of Apple watch after buying watch series 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and now 8. It might my last apple watch. If cannot see the time at night without shining a bright white light in my face, I might as well not buy apple watch.

I agree bring back the old modular face back. I really dislike the new one I also need the larger face and really don’t need to see the days of the weather not really useful please bring the old face back!!

I’m a senior and the new Infograph Modular I can no longer read the detail daily forecast I the the middle of the screen. The old screen with the big letters for forecast and location is what I need. Anyone have suggestions on how I can add this back or is there a suggestion for a different watch face I can use. I really like having daily weather and location in big letters.

Agreed!! As a nurse I need the date and time to be central on my watch and now the date in the top right is just saying sat 1 is horrible not even the month!

I don’t want my freaking calendar on my watch I just want my old watch face back.

PS Just noticed my typo earlier. I meant “ageist.” As someone else pointed out, this current watchface discriminates against those of us who no longer can read tiny font. Plus I am also frustrated they did away with the month.

Isn't it rather ageist to assume that only older people have vision issues?

Fair point. It initially hadn’t even occurred to me it was even ageist until others here pointed it out. Then those with fine vision said they also didn’t appreciate the redesign since it was simply more aesthetically pleasing before. Now you’re pointing out that poor vision isn’t necessarily related to age, indeed true. But my whole point was simply to urge everyone to post their complaint with Apple, which I hope you did.

Same here. Modular has always been my "work" face. Date, time, weather in center, 2 world clocks, and calculator or battery. At a glance I can determine evenything I need for my work day. Now I can barely see the weather and world clocks because they added more data and symbols that are not necessary.

Here is an image of the old Modular face on a (smaller) 38mm Series 0, and the current Modular on a 40mm Series 5. Enven on the smaller, older watch it's more visible and easier to read. (In real life the watch faces are even smaller than the image.)

Apple could have added a new Modular face, but left the old one alone. Suggestion/complaint sent to Apple, but I'm sure they don't care.

I think this is a post for all who want the old modular face back. Every comment (but yours) supports that for whatever the reason, which is why we all posted here. Futile as it may be, some of us are just asking everyone to post the complaint in the right place. 

You can certainly also encourage those who like the new face to submit positive feedback but this is not the group. And those who are indifferent but somehow found themselves here have probably glanced and moved on. If your purpose was just to point out reasoning flaws (eg, the inadvertent omission of a less populous group of younger people with vision issues, committed by whoever first started using “ageist” in here and all those who concurred thereafter, including me), you can check off that box. I don’t even need reading glasses and I hate the new off-center, tinier, month-missing face. Watch (pun intended) me now be accused of being a “face-ist” at the rate this innocent post is going! Anyway, I was just (like others who posted the proper link before me) trying to help this group get some traction. If you insist on the last word, at least make sure it includes wishing us luck we get the old face added back!

You seem to be mistaken as to what is happening here.

This is a honey pot. A topic thread that the Apple Support Communities hosts allow to exist to keep the fomenting in one place.

And so you know, there is no freedom of speech in the Apple Support Communities, it's not a democracy of any sort. You can say here what Apple allows you to say. Period. End of story.

If by honey pot you mean a sweet=supportive place, good. And if by fomenting you mean we are all riled up venting about the same issue, then also good. And I didn’t mean that literally nor is it a surprise Apple monitors what’s said here - my point was only that even if you love/are indifferent to the new design, sure, you’re still allowed to post that here… but why? If Apple allows us to complain as a group here and submit feedback there, that’s all I came for. 

But if this is a forum to debate the legitimacy of the initial post, then you are correct, not the place for me. I mistakenly thought this was a place for everyone in agreement about a poor design change to share makeshift repair ideas, commiserate and even try to get Apple to do something about it. It certainly looked like that.

This is a technical support forum. So, yes, suggestions about fixes or workarounds are appropriate. Simply complaining is tolerated by the Hosts up to a point but it's not the fundamental purpose of the forums. And posting here has pretty much no effect on what Apple does. They don't read here for feedback or suggestions.

Also, there's nothing in the Terms of Use that says you can only post in the thread if you agree with the original poster or for that matter, with anyone.
