(released) ios16 broke my phone

i tried upgrading my phone (iphone X) to ios16. however, when the download was done i was already having issues with unlocking the phone: when i touched the screen in any way, nothing was responding, and when it finally did, it was glitching. when i did unlock the phone somehow, everything was glitched and frozen (i couldn’t even scroll slowly without it freezing). i tried the soft reset and even factory reset - nothing worked.

I had the same problem with ios16 (third party screen in my iPhone XR).

I returned to iOS 15.6.1 following these instructions

Now, my Xr is ok running IOS15.7.

(Be careful you have the proper backup and follow the step by step instructions)

My iPhone X wouldn’t swipe after the update, very frustrating, i factory reset my phone and now cannot access the phone at all because the screen won’t swipe. Don’t recommend factory reset! I was v annoyed when factory reset didn’t work so launched my phone across the room and now the screen is smashed (it lets me tap the information button so I know the screen technically works) but unlikely Apple will help now I’ve smashed the screen.

My iPhone 8 was working fine until I attempted the update. Then it froze. Neither of my Macs recognised the phone, I couldn't restore it, zilch. Wont even charge now either by cable or wireless. Ive spent hours on the web looking for solutions from all the "experts" out there, and nothing works. Yes ive tried different apple genuine cables, a force restart, everything. Back to the old iPhone 6 for me.

my new(to me) iphone XR was working beautifully on ios 15 but is bricked after updating to ios 16.

I updated without backup (since I had nothing to back up). The touchscreen started behaving horribly after update so I decided to erase my personal data and do a factory reset in case I had to return it. Now the phone is stuck on the hello screen and there is no way to get past it since swipe has been turned off by ios 16. I have spent hours with Apple support on the phone and in the store but they seem clueless.

I am new to Apple but is it really that hard to restore ios15 via itunes or their own proprietary software.

Same thing happened. My phone is iphone XS Max, and after upgrade to the latest IOS 16 (upgraded 1 week ago), occasionally my phone background turned into black, and most ridiculous thing happened was it just stuck on the apple logo screen for nearly 1 hour, and I have tried different ways to restart my phone and all doesn't work at all.

What a POS Apple has become! Remember back in the day when you had to reboot Microsoft devices every hour or so? Well guess what, it took Apple a decade to downgrade their own OS but here we are today, rebooting/resetting all of our apple devices every day multiple times due to the absolute CRAP they are releasing! Not only has iOS made HomeKit even WORSE (I didn't think that was possible!) but it's ALSO broke Apple Music and now it says I haven't listened to anything recently (as I'm playing my playlist it is telling me I haven't listened to any music!), that the only playlist it recognizes now are old playlists from 5 YEARS AGO! WTF Apple!!!!

Upon initiating the validation and install of IOS 16 on my iPhone X, the screen went dark as it normally does. However, after much time, I discovered the phone was restarted, and responsive, but the screen remained black. There is haptic response to swiping, and a reset (vol up/vol dwn/power) shows the Apple logo, then goes black again as it competes the boot sequence. The phone still accepts calls, txt, email (via Apple Watch SE).

Very disappointed in this release.

IOS 16 has also played **** with my iPad - It seemed to cause a storage issue, which has mysteriously fixed itself, but is now glitchy scrolling.

As I said, super disappointed in this release.
