I did update new iOS16 and now when I plug my iPhone 13 plus max to my car it doesn't recognize the device! anybody with the same problem?

I have the same issue. I know it is the phone and not the car because my wife's phone still works in my car and she hasn't updated to iOS16.
After a little testing, I found that if I turn off my VPN, the CarPlay sees my phone, like normal. Clearly, Apple needs to push out a fix because I'm not turning off my VPN every time I get in my car.

Well my Express VPN does what it’s supposed to. Definitely hides my location.

The VPNs are the data collectors. They’re happy to have all your traffic, and your identity, too.
My iPhone SE 2020 shows ‘Mazda’ under CarPlay but when I go CarPlay on Mazda CX-9 screen the screen goes blank.
Updated to 16.0.2 and still having same issue. Car play with Blank screen and nonfunctioning. Using Express VPN.
Same. I thought someone on here said it was fixed with 16.0.2 but it’s not. I’m using express vpn as well.
No problem for me at all now.

Since F-Secure Freedome VPN works fine since 16.0.2, I would wait for Express VPN to issue an update which should be soon.
I don't have a VPN on my phone and are there any other suggestions besides 'factory reset' because I refuse to to that. I have an iPhone13 Pro.
Same for me. 16.0.2 with VPN Express black screen apple car play on VW tiguan.
Good call mate! Even says “may affect” car play, etc.. when turned on so now we know. Just don’t understand why the car play screen is totally blank. Hopefully fix comes soon.
