iOS 16 not connecting to Apple CarPlay
I did update new iOS16 and now when I plug my iPhone 13 plus max to my car it doesn't recognize the device! anybody with the same problem?

I have the same issue. I know it is the phone and not the car because my wife's phone still works in my car and she hasn't updated to iOS16.
After a little testing, I found that if I turn off my VPN, the CarPlay sees my phone, like normal. Clearly, Apple needs to push out a fix because I'm not turning off my VPN every time I get in my car.

I have this same problem but don't have a VPN on my phone.
I also have the same problem. No VPN and my Iphone 13 does not connect to carplay after upgrading to ios16.0.2.
Please Apple fix this, like it was with ios15
Since upgrading to ios16 CarPlay doesn’t work. Tried reboot to no avail.
iOS16.1 is not working with BMW CarPlay. Can’t pair via Bluetooth or WiFi. Please fix
Just updated to iOS 16.1 and now my CarPlay doesn’t work. VPN is off. The cable works as I can still make calls or play music through it. But it doesn’t recognize my phone in CarPlay.
Unfortunately same issue after I updated to 16.1.
16.1 didn’t fix the issue.
How do you turn off the VPN
The recent update seem to help make it less frequent - but I still lose connection for no apparent reason. I have to disconnect the wifi, and hope it works. BTW I don't ever use VPN on my phone.
Hi , my CarPlay also stopped working after I upgraded my iPhone to IOS 16.1.1?
Same issue with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler using Uconnect. No VPN use here either
By the way, I also upgraded to iOS 16.02 and I have ExpressVPN. So it maybe that this is only a problem with ExpressVPN. Kind of annoying to always have to turn off VPN, connect to CarPlay and then turn VPN back on.

I do not use VPN every day and for me VPN does not
have anything to do with this problem.
I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max which I updated to iOS 16.
After that update I had to do a hard reset on my car and on the iPhone. After
that everything worked like a charm.
I then updated to iOS 16.0.2 and after that nothing
works. I did a couple of hard resets on the car and the iPhone, but it just will
not connect. It is as if the iPhone is not sending any signals to the car. From
my perspective it is a software issue, since that is the only thing that
changed.
On Top of that while writing this feedback I tested with
my wife’s iPhone, which still has iOS 16, and it still works.
Apple needs to fix this.
