Some email messages go to word like document.. Has anyone else have this problem when using Safari to get AOL mail?

Just to confirm, are these attachments that are opening in Word? Or is this the actual message thread? If it’s an attachment, it could explain why this is occurring. One way you could isolate this would be by adding your AOL account to the Mail app on Mac and see if the issue continues there. Here’s how:
1. From the menu bar in Mail, choose Mail > Add Account.
2. Select your email provider from the list, then click Continue.
3. Some accounts, such as Google, might ask that you click Open Browser to complete authentication in your web browser.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter account details, such as your name, email address, and password. If you're not sure what information to enter, please contact your email provider for help.
Add an email account to Mail on your Mac
Check the messages in Mail and see if this continues there.

I use AOL through Safari to get my mail. For the last couple of months some of the email messages immediately become documents and have no way saving in that format. AOL has been no help.
