iOS 16 Lock Screen
You are still missing my point. It is simple to create a new Lock Screen with a saved picture, the functionality is missing to create one using your current Lock Screen background if you do not have the original saved picture.
Maybe take another run through the text from my post, "existing background" and "current background and wallpaper" are fairly specific of what I should be able to use for my new Lock Screen background and wallpaper.
I will try to explain this to you a different way in the hope that you understand.
In fact if you select the + button at step 2. you are directed to the exact same menu as you are when selecting the "Customize" then "Add New" button. This redundancy makes me wonder if, "Customize" then "Add New" was meant as, "Use Current" or something similar in vernacular where the behaviour was meant to launch creation of an iOS 16 Lock Screen from the current picture already being used for the Lock Screen.
Ultimately removing the, "Add New" option after selecting customize should launch you directly into the modification tool using your current Lock Screen image given that launching into the modification tool with the option to use many other images, colours etc. already happens when selecting the "+" button after step 1.
Please refrain from telling me to take a screen shot of my current Lock Screen, or some other kludgy work around to the actual behaviour that I'm requesting help with if it is truly missing. Which is to create a Lock Screen using my "existing background" or "current background and wallpaper".
