In settings when i tap on password and security it again asking for id password

Some sections of the Apple ID and iCloud part of Settings on an iPhone may ask you to verify credentials either with Face ID or the password of the account. This is for your security. For example, when tapping on the Payment & Shipping option in this same section, you're often asked to sign in. After entering in the password, are you able to view and edit the info therein or do you see the mentioned pop-up repeatedly?

I’m having a similar issue having upgraded today from an iPhone 8 to the new iPhone 14 Pro. But for me the phone is getting stuck in a loop where it keeps asking for the password to an old Hotmail account that I haven’t used in over a decade. And in Settings it doesn’t even list that email address for my Apple ID. I’ve been able to use the new phone, so I thought the problem was solved, but as soon as I opened Messages it started doing it again so I was forced to restart the phone.
