apple hdmi tv adapter audio not working with ios 16

My Apple HDMI TV adapter only shows picture, not audio, with iOS 16. I am in a very rural area with only cellular access, so this is a huge disappointment. (iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 Pro) Worked fine before the update!

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

So, having a good look at the release notes for iOS 16.2, seems they did some work on the IP private relay. So follow that thread and as I was getting an error associated with VPNs on Disney plus even though I wasn’t running one at the time got me thinking. So I turned off private relay in iCloud, then in the Wi-Fi settings turned off private Wi-Fi address and limit ip address tracking. This has worked for everything other than prime video which I do not get sound and the picture stutters. Hope this works for you all. Any tips on getting prime working would be good.

It is absolutely an iOS16 problem. I have two of the same iPhones. I updated one of them to iOS16.2 just to see if it is buggy. It has broken the one, key way that I use my phone, using the HDMI adapter to watch TV.

Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBOMax, all of the video apps don’t work in some way. No sound as well as glitchy video.

Thankfully, I have a backup phone that still works fine with iOS15 and the HDMI adapter.

They have got to know that there’s a problem! I can’t be the only one that’s been on the phone with Apple support or T-Mobile or anybody for hours days struggling. Buying new HDMI adapters. It’s just been **** and nobody can help us or nobody will they need to solve this problem my phone is just an iPhone 11. I think it’s all phones across the board that did a recent update. I never should’ve updated. I should’ve left it alone.
