I just updated my Mac to monterey 12.6 and now when I view google maps I got the black screen below. Do you know how to fix that?

Okay, in another thread some are saying the following works. Safari->Preferences->Advanced->check “Show Develop menu in menu bar”. Now click on the Develop menu and select “Experimental features” scroll down to “WebGL via Metal” and uncheck it. Now try Google Maps again.
Thank you. The map works now. But wondering is there any side affect if we unchecked that box? Just wondering . But very helpful. Tanks again.
unfortunately some sites do not load properly then...
at least wetteronline.de does not.
so for me the problem is not solved by that yet.
A fix has been provided in a number of discussion threads including this one. Have you tried it?
Yes, that worked! Thank You.
Yea this definitely worked. I wanted to know why is it that specific selection that makes it start working again. Thank you IKrupp!
I did what you described but then I had to add Java for Cool to work.
Thanks, Ikrupp! Worked for me too. Not only for Google Maps, but also for watching tv via Ziggogo.tv in Holland.
Anyone know when Apple plans to fix this 'WebGL via Metal' bug?
This worked for me! THANKS SO MUCH!
