Problem connecting to the server

For months I’ve been trying to sign in to my iPad and and I keep getting this message, “Could Not Sign In. There was a problem connecting to the server.” I am using the correct login info. I have internet access. My App Store shows me as logged in but I am not logged in in settings. I even erased my iPad and started from scratch and I’m still getting the same message. I am unable to install update because it requires I log in. I’ve searched everywhere for a solution and nothing has worked. I found a post about someone having this issue years ago but no resolution was posted. Is it that my iPad is too old now? Help!

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post. I tried every step you sent and nothing worked. It’s weird because it accepts my Apple ID and password to erase my iPad and to set it back up again but it won’t let me sign in on iCloud, for the update or even the Find My app. But it is signed in to the App Store. Tomorrow I’m going to erase it again and try and set it up as someone else’s iPad and see what happens. I’m pretty much just trying anything at this point. 😩

Some things you can try. Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.


Try a restart.


Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch    *


Try a forced restart.


Reset Device.      *
