Iphone 12 pro max not ringing when it should

Hi, my phone is NOT set to Do-not-disturb, the ringer IS set to sound (with the constellation ringtone) and with the volume is half way up. Is there ANY reason why it does not sound AT ALL from time to time when a call is comes through? Sometimes it does, sometimes it does not. Today it did not. I just happened to glance at the phone by chance and saw that it was ringing, answered it, chatted; that phone SHOULD have rung loud and clear and it was a work call. This is not the first time this has happened, and I'm afraid it is fundamentally undermining trust in this premium-priced device. Thoughts? Thanks in advance,

Hi, I just did a test with my wife who tried calling the same phone - normal line - and the phone is SHOWING that it is ringing but not SOUNDING as it needs to (so as to be aware that it is ringing). I made a video of it- do you want to see? Can you pls advise if there is any reason given all the settings have been set to ring - volume on, no do-not-disturb, ringer on, etc. Is it broken?
