1 - Give up a Screen Shot of Safari as per image below
2 - Run the Software Update Applet in the System Preferences
3 - Any Antivirus, VPNs, Disk Cleaners or Disk Optimizers installed on this computer
4 -Restart in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal and Try Again using the Software Update Applet in System Preferences
I seen that, however it was on the auto updates when I click on the notification for software updates and it downloaded afterwards my safari had no support. But I didn’t know that I had the Monterey OS that I could reinstall by recovery mode. It took forever but when completed works perfectly now.
UPDATE!!!!!
I fixed the issue by reinstalling MacOS Monterey through the shift+cmd+3
when I did it made my safari go back to version 15.6.1. It took hours for it to install but after it was done I checked and safari worked perfectly.
now I have an update for safari 16.
kinda afraid 😱 to do it but hey if it’s doesn’t work I know how to fix it.

It's reasonable to assume the download was from Apple but was interrupted/damaged before it installed correctly.
FWIW, it shouldn't take long to update to Safari 16.
It may have been an Auto Update for Safari from Apple Servers but then again, so were mine as presented earlier and the Source was listed as Apple as the Source
The exact some Source appeared in my Other M1 MBA . Go figure ?
Safari is supported. When you updated to Monterey 12.6 there should have been a update to Safari as well.
I just clicked on the auto update and it takes forever so I left it alone. How can I get it back. I have a time machine backup since the day I bout it back 2017.
Note -->> the Dates and Hours different but all the same Day
Okay that doesn’t help at all, what do I do with that information?
you would think if I can’t restore safari without the OS it would have done it in with the update but after the update some hours later I went and logged in and safari has a big 🚫 over it
Yes. I read that the last two times you said it. 😎
