iPhone X no wireless charging with iOS 16

Since installing iOS 16 on my iPhone X when I try and use wireless charging on my charger pad it initially shows it recognizes the charger pad and gives the lightning bolt that it’s charging but then within a few seconds later it disappears and does not charge.

Hi ffnewbury,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

First let's make sure your iPhone X has been restarted. This can resolve many minor issues.

Next, let's be sure the wireless charging process is correctly being followed according to this article: How to wirelessly charge your iPhone.

"Charge wirelessly

  1. Connect your charger to power. Use the power adapter that came with your accessory or a power adapter recommended by the manufacturer.
  2. Place the charger on a level surface or other location recommended by the manufacturer.
  3. Place your iPhone on the charger with the display facing up. For best performance, place it in the center of the charger or in the location recommended by manufacturer.
  4. Your iPhone should start charging a few seconds after you place it on your wireless charger."

Try the iPhone outside of it's case if you have one to further isolate the issue.

The charger should also be Qi certified for best results.

Test with the wired charger, and if it's working, please contact Apple Support and diagnostics can be run on your device.

Have a fantastic day!
