How can I edit photos (now that iphoto is gone) on OSMonterey 12.5.1?

iPhoto was replaced by Photos 6 or 7 years ago. Hold down the option key while opening the Photos app and it will give you the option to select your iPhoto library and will open and convert it. You can then use Photos to edit photos.
